River Valley Senior Center is excited to partner with the American Red Cross on Friday July 10, 2026 to launch the first of what we hope will be many blood drives. We’ll be working together to give back to the community in a truly life changing way since each donation we collect can save up to three lives.

There are many ways you can help, but most importantly we hope you come out to donate.

To schedule your donation, please:
- sign up in-person at the Senior Center
- call the Center 269-469-4556 and ask for Ashlei
- use the Red Cross Donor app
- go to RedCross.org, click "Donate Blood" "Find a Drive" and follow the prompts, or
- call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800¬-733-2767).

The Red Cross has been making a humanitarian impact for more than 130 years and has been collecting blood for over 70 of those years. We can all be part of something important when we work with the Red Cross to strengthen the blood supply and give back to our community.

Thank you for making River Valley Senior Center such a success. Let’s make an impact July 10th and add saving lives to our list of great accomplishments.

Need help with your phone, laptop, or other tech?

Rowan, a college student volunteering here at the Center, will be available every other Tuesday, starting on June 9th, at 1pm in our Library to assist members with their devices and answer any tech questions they may have.

He brings plenty of experience and a genuine love of working with seniors. If you need any tech assistance, stop in to see him!

Were you aware?

Meals for the homebound are delivered to RVSC on weekdays from Senior Nutrition Services in Benton Harbor and then delivered to you by Senior Nutrition Services volunteers who bring meals, as well as a friendly smile and conversation, Monday through Friday. The cost of these meals is on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. If you would like to sign up or learn more about the program, please call 269-426-0912.

RVSC Garden Club News
Here at the Center we have 10 raised garden beds on premises; five 6ft by 2ft beds,
and five 4ft by 2ft beds.

This year Diane Anderson has volunteered to be our Raised Bed Coordinator and will be scheduling weekly group learning sessions you can attend for support and fellowship, beginning on June 3rd.

Experienced gardeners and newbies are invited and welcome to call Diane at 630-240-1099 to discuss their 2026 garden goals and reserve a garden bed of their own. Beds are limited so don’t wait! 🤩🌱🌷🍅

Darlene Anderson RN, of Blessed Feet, is our Foot Clinic Nurse. Darlene offers her services at the Center twice a month. Clients must have a signed release form from their health care provider prior to their first appointment. The initial appointment fee is $40; all subsequent appointments will cost $30. This is not covered under any insurance.

We are thrilled to announce that River Valley Senior Center has found a new Executive Director!

We are pleased to welcome Jackie Knapp-Pantaleo as our next Executive Director. Jackie was selected through a rigorous and comprehensive process from a strong field of candidates.

Throughout her career, Jackie has worked with local nonprofits, government entities, educational institutions, and businesses gaining experience that has strengthened her leadership, operational, and strategic capabilities. Jackie is deeply committed to the Center's mission, and her extensive experience and proven leadership makes her well positioned to guide the next phase of growth here at the Center. Next time you’re visiting the Center, be sure to introduce yourself and give her a warm welcome.

Did you know?

Senior Nutrition Services (SNS) serves congregate meals at the center for seniors. If you are over the age of 60 and like to dine with friends, we would love to have you register as a congregate meal member.

The meals are prepared by Senior Nutrition Services in Benton Harbor and are delivered to our center on weekdays. The cost of these meals is on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. If you would like to sign up or learn more about the program, please call 269-426-0912.
