Once again, we have scammers who are claiming to be from the Emmet County Sheriff's Office and are calling members of the community telling them they have a warrant for their arrest and have to pay them money. THIS IS A SCAM! Immediately hang up and block the number.

Unfortunately they use computer generated numbers and these numbers are untraceable. Sometimes, they will even "spoof" the Emmet County Sheriff's Office phone number to make it appear that the number is calling from our office.

We will NEVER call you to advise you about warrant status nor ask for any kind of payment over the phone.

We would like to thank Royce Jacobs and Alanson Public Schools for their support and assistance with the Petoskey Memorial Day Ceremony yesterday.
