Over 80% of Emmet County residents recycle--and that's not including those who just return bottles and cans for deposit. We're proud of all we've done together. Emmet County Recycling now
~collects 28 day-to-day recyclable materials curbside and at the drop-sites
~operates 13 drop-sites, 12 open 24/7/365
~handles weekly curbside recycling for Resort Township, Petoskey, Bear Creek Township, Little Traverse Township, Alanson, and Harbor Springs
~collects an additional 32 more unusual items for recycling at the Pleasantview Road Drop-off Center
~has won numerous awards and is looked to as a model for rural communities
~serves as a recycling hub, processing and marketing materials for Cheboygan and Presque Isle counties as well as our own
~does not rely on tax dollars.

We highly recommend refraining from setting out your small 18 gallon totes tomorrow. Wait to set out until next week or visit a dropsite in the meantime!

So... we are making fun of our long lines because we are WELL AWARE. We can do that because we are working on a few ways to fix it.

We have new striping painted at our entrance to keep a safety lane open and we now have a chip reader! Card use at the Gatehouse should take less time and those pesky bank notifications should be coming to an end.

We're looking forward to ideas from engineers to make our entrance safer too!
