Growing food for the community, restoring ecosystems and biodiversity, managing stormwater and runoff, reducing "heat island" impacts and supporting pollinators - all of these are possibilities with well-planned conservation practices in urban and small-scale spaces.
Join this free online gathering on June 10 to learn about conservation practices in urban settings and on smaller farms and growing spaces. Bring your successes, challenges and questions of land stewardship, and hear from Michaela Werling, NRCS-Ohio's Urban Conservationist, and Mad Marchal, OAK's Conservation Outreach Coordinator, on the use of high tunnels, cover crops, pollinator plantings, soil-building practices and more.
This Conservation Chat is free and open to all - but it won't be recorded! Register today and plan to attend at oak-ky.org/conservation. This event is supported by a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
