On Friday September 4th (this Friday) at 4:00 pm cst, HPD will have a small ceremony at the Hardinsburg City Park for K-9 Officer Jedi. Anyone can attend. After the ceremony, Jedi will take his last ride through town to his final resting place. For those wanting to line up on the sidewalks and show their support, we will travel from Fairgrounds road past the hospital and continue to US60.
Jedi will forever be in many hearts. He was loved unconditionally by every officer he came to meet. He was an extraordinary K-9 that was great at his job.
Fly high beautiful boy. 💙🐾

It is with very heavy hearts that we come to you tonight with the news of the passing of our beloved K-9 Officer Jedi. Jedi’s end of watch was today, 8-26-2026. We are unable to give further information at this time. Jedi was taken by Chief Laslie, Officer Taylor and his wife, Ariel, to the Murray State University Breathitt Veterinary Medical Examiner. There, they will perform an autopsy to determine cause of death. More information will be provided at a later time when we have results.
PLEASE respect the privacy of Officer Taylor, Ariel and the Hardinsburg Police Department at this time of mourning.
Rest in peace beautiful boy!! 💙🐾

HPD would like to welcome and introduce their new officer, William (Bill) Coleman. Officer Coleman is retired from the military and has experience in law enforcement. Officer Coleman was sworn in to the department on July 31, 2026 by Mayor Wayne Macy. 🐾💙🚔

Kentucky State Police has issued an Ian Alert after a 15-year-old went missing. Aiden Hill was last seen in Breckinridge County on Thursday night at approximately 10:00, according to KSP. Aiden stands five feet, three inches tall
