Hardwick Fire Department enjoyed being part of honoring our counties fallen soldiers in this years Hardwick Memorial Day Parade. It’s was a great morning and we were happy to see so many people attending today.
Please enjoy the weekend safely and always remember the sacrifices that so many have made to give us these freedoms.

We are very fortunate to live in an area with such generous people and businesses. The old Concord fire truck needs some high quality TLC before this year’s Memorial Day and it’s 100th birthday coming up June 2027.

The Vintage Garage in Stowe is volunteering their time to help keep our old truck running the way it should for generations to come. They’ll also be evaluating a small crack in the engine head that will only get worse with time, slowly progressing beyond repair. The head repair could potentially be a very expensive fix that needs to be outsourced.

E&M Towing and Recovery from Wolcott kindly volunteered to transport the truck to and from the Vintage Garage. With Eric doing this for us, it has saved funds in the account that we can now put towards the parts and continuing repairs.

Thank you very much to these two generous businesses!

If you can and would like to donate, please check out our GoFundme. The volunteer firefighters that own this great piece of Hardwick history would much appreciate it!
If you have already donated, TY!

HFD had a big day. Numerous members along with our mutual aid partners performed a controlled burn of a house in Wolcott. These burns take a lot of planning and effort. Today’s conditions were challenging as we worked to prevent any wild-land fires from taking off.
Towards the end of the day HFD diverted with W1/ E2 and our side by side to help control a brush fire a few miles away. Thank you to everyone for a safe day of training. Please do not burn without contacting your town fire warden!!

HFD hosted the Lamoille 45 hour class for extrication training today. We must first thank All Metals for providing us with cars to train on. This is essential training that improves our shared ability to respond to motor vehicle accidents with entrapment. Thank you to the Hardwick Fire Auxiliary for lunch and all of the departments who assisted today!
