Since yesterday Fire Departments across the county have worked tirelessly fighting wild land fires. Today we continue to fight wild land fires.

Please be aware of the fire conditions in your area before you burn. If you are going to conduct a controlled burn call your local dispatch center. Below we have listed both Sharp and Fulton counties non-emergency number. Check the link for fire danger information before you burn as well as local weather for wind speeds.

Please understand we are not asking you to venture out into the cold weather. If you happen to be clearing a driveway and see a hydrant, please help us by clearing that hydrant.

Did you know, a fire can double in size every minute? It can take critical time for a firefighter to dig out a fire hydrant, which is why we are calling for your help! If you have a hydrant on or near your property, consider clearing the snow around it for 2-3 feet so we can access it quickly.
