The holiday season is right around the corner, and the Harker Heights Fire Department and the Harker Heights Lions Club are excited to help spread a little Thanksgiving cheer!

We will soon be accepting sign-ups for our Thanksgiving Basket Program to help local families in need enjoy a special holiday meal.

SIGN-UP DATES & TIMES:

📅 November 2–5 and November 9–10, 2026

⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

📍 Eligibility: Must be a Harker Heights resident. (Details in the flyer below)

Our goal is to make Thanksgiving a little brighter for families in our community.

If you or someone you know could use a helping hand this Thanksgiving, we encourage you to sign up during the dates and times listed above!

Hands-On Experience for Future First Responders! 🚑

The Harker Heights Fire Department is proud to partner with Central Texas College by providing students the opportunity to participate in ride-alongs with our crews.

These ride-alongs give students valuable real-world experience and a firsthand look at what it takes to serve our community in emergency services.

We appreciate Central Texas College for recognizing our department and allowing us to play a small part in helping prepare the next generation of first responders!

We wish these students the best as they continue their education and pursue their careers in emergency services!

A little rain couldn’t stop us! We want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and helped make our Open House such a great event. We truly appreciate our vendors and community partners for braving the rain and spending the morning with us!

Join us for the Harker Heights Fire Department Open House this Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 AM–Noon!

Rain or shine, we still plan to have a great time! The Open House will go on as scheduled unless there is a severe weather advisory that makes it unsafe to do so.

We’re getting closer! Mark your calendars and come hang out with us at the Harker Heights Fire Department Open House.

Saturday, October 3rd
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Central Fire Station | 401 Indian Trail

We’ve got a fun morning planned for the whole family with activities, fire trucks, giveaways, food, and plenty more!

Bring the kiddos, meet your local firefighters, check out the station, and join us for a morning of fun.

We can’t wait to see everyone on October 3rd!
