B - Shift Training: The primary objective of a fire department air consumption course is to ensure firefighters maintain proficiency in both SCBA performance and breathing air management while performing physically demanding tasks. This training enables firefighters to understand their individual air consumption rates under stress, while developing the awareness, discipline, and confidence necessary to continuously monitor their air supply and safely exit hazardous environments before reaching critical air levels.
