The Harker Heights Police Department wants to remind everyone while they celebrate the upcoming Memorial Day weekend to be extra safe on the roadway; remember to buckle up, slow down, and don’t drink and drive.

So far in 2026 there have been 1,129 fatality crashes on Texas highways. Don’t be the next statistic!

The Harker Heights Police Department will have additional officers conducting traffic enforcement between May 18, 2026, and May 31, 2026, to help reduce the number of vehicle crashes.

This is made possible through the Texas Department of Transportation Selective Traffic Enforcement Program
