The Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition is embraced by the Souderton Area School District as well as many local businesses and organizations. The coalition is funded by the generous contributions and donations from all sectors of the Indian Valley Community. Financial assistance is also provided by the North Penn YMCA. These partnerships provide the Coalition the opportunity to help us build a safe and drug free environment for our youth.

Summer break = more freedom, more time with friends, and more choices.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), research shows that teens are more likely to experiment with substances during periods of unstructured time, like summer.

Staying substance-free helps protect your brain, mental health, and future.

Make this a summer you remember—for the right reasons. ☀️

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), taking time to check in with yourself, as well as reaching out to others, can help reduce isolation and encourage support when it’s needed most.

Open conversations about mental health help create safer, more supportive communities where people feel comfortable asking for help.

We are busting the myth that children don’t experience mental health issues.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an estimated 1 in 5 youth has a diagnosable mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder, yet many don’t receive the help they need.

Early mental health care makes a lasting difference. When children get the support they need early on, they’re better equipped to grow, learn, and thrive.

Let’s continue to listen, support, and advocate for every child’s mental well-being. 💚

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mental health is an essential part of overall well-being. It shapes how we think, feel, handle stress, connect with others, and make decisions every day.

When we support mental health, we strengthen resilience, navigate challenges more effectively, and improve quality of life for ourselves and those around us.

Small actions, like taking a break, reaching out, or practicing self-care, can make a meaningful difference at every stage of life.
