Police are seeking assistance with the identity of this individual(s) following an incident in the early hours of August 25, 2026 at the Indian Valley Middle School and Harleysville Community Center. He and another person were operating Polaris UTVs with the SUNBELT logo on the back right. The UTVs are enclosed and have a blinking light on top of the cage.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We honor Sergeant Wagner for his service and dedication to his country and the Montgomery Township community. Please keep Sergeant Wagner, his family, and all those affected by this loss in your thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sergeant Lee Wagner who died unexpectedly following a sudden medical emergency on August 19, 2026.

Sergeant Wagner served the Montgomery Township Police Department with distinction for 16 years. Throughout his career, Sergeant Wagner was known for unwavering dedication to the community, commitment to fellow officers, and professionalism in service to others.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Sergeant Wagner’s family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. We ask that the privacy of the family be respected as they grieve this tremendous loss.

Sergeant Wagner will be remembered not only for the badge he proudly wore, but for the lives touched through a career dedicated to protecting and serving others. He believed in putting others before himself, stepping up when others would not, and choosing to provide, protect, and love with his whole heart.

On August 20th and 21st line painting will be occurring on many roadways in the township. These roadways include:

Maple Avenue

Store Road
Freed Road
Yoder Road
Broad Street

Be careful driving in these areas. Please be patient, as you may experience some minor traffic delays.

On Tuesday August 18, 2026, at 11:13 AM the Lower Salford Township Police Department assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department with a warrant service in the 200 block of Danielle Drive in Harleysville. For the safety of our residents, homes in the immediate vicinity were evacuated. By approximately 1:00PM the situation was resolved and the residents were able to return to their homes. There is no existing threat to the public.

The Lower Salford Township Police Department would like to thank everyone affected by this incident for their cooperation and understanding. Without the support of our residents, investigations such as these would be much more difficult to manage.

COMMENDATION FOR MERIT:

On July 14, 2026, Officer Robert Wideman (left) and Corporal Frank Addalli (right) responded to a medical emergency in which the patient was bleeding extensively from lacerations to the wrists. The officers calm and professional demeanor helped to de-escalate the situation and allowed them to triage the patient's injuries. Due to the severity of the injuries, the officers applied tourniquets to both of the patient's arms and bandages to the lacerations. Freedom Valley Medical Rescue arrived to take over further care and transported the patient to the hospital. Thanks to the quick response and life-saving efforts of Officer Wideman and Corporal Addalli, the patient survived and is recovering.

The actions taken by these officers are excellent examples of their dedication, teamwork, and professionalism. Congratulations to Officer Wideman and Corporal Addalli on a job well done!

🚧 2026 Road Improvement Program

Road improvement work is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, June 29.

Over the next several weeks, crews will be working throughout the Township to improve several roadways. Residents may experience temporary traffic delays and are encouraged to follow posted signage while work is underway.

🚧 Road Work Alert

This week, Lower Salford Township will be performing roadway repairs and stormwater improvements on Groffs Mill Road and Indian Creek Road from Harleysville Pike to Freeman School Road.

Traffic impacts include:
• Indian Creek Road will be closed to northbound traffic at Freeman School Road.
• Southbound traffic from Route 113 will remain open for residents and businesses.
• Traffic patterns will vary as work is performed in both travel lanes.

Detours will be in place at:
• Freeman School Road & Salfordville Road
• Groffs Mill Road & Meetinghouse Road

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained in both directions throughout the project. Please use caution when traveling through the area and follow the posted detours.
