Today, Harlingen Collegiate High hosted our annual Hoo’s In? Clubs & Organizations Showcase, giving our students the opportunity to discover all the amazing ways they can get involved, find their interests, and grow as leaders on our campus! 🧡✨💙

With an impressive 24 clubs and organizations represented, our student leaders and members prepared presentations to share what their groups are all about and how students can benefit from joining. It was great seeing our Owls advocating for their organizations, sharing their interests, and encouraging their fellow students to get involved! 👏🦉

To make things even more fun, students were challenged to visit at least 8 clubs and organizations, collect 8 signatures, and submit their card for a chance to win a gift card! 🎟️🎉
🎉Congratulations to our winners: Jackie Verdines, Jonas Gonzalez, David Justo, Giselle Garcia, Zach Booth, and Xavier Garcia!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our teacher sponsors who encourage student leadership every day and guide our Owls as they turn their interests into meaningful experiences, service, and opportunities to make a difference. 🧡💙

Throughout the session, students learned more about UTRGV - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, college course expectations, available resources, and the responsibilities that come with being both an HCH student and a UTRGV student. 📚

Owl Nation proudly celebrates junior Seth Perez for an incredible accomplishment this summer!🦉🧡💙

Seth was selected to participate in UTRGV’s Rio Grande Valley Summer Science Internship (RGSSI), a program that gives high school students hands-on experience in science and research. He was one of only 10 students selected from more than 100 applicants! 🔬👏

During the internship, Seth conducted research on a perennial w**d, studying the insects and other species that consume the plant while gaining valuable experience using the Scientific Method to collect and analyze data. 🌱🧪

Seth extends a special thank you to UTRGV mentor Dr. Pushpa Soti for her guidance throughout his research and to HCH Biology teacher Mr. Robles for inspiring and encouraging him to pursue this opportunity.

A special thank you to UTRGV - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for providing meaningful opportunities that allow our students to explore their passions and experience science beyond the classroom.

Congratulations, Seth! Owl Nation is proud of you! 🦉🧡💙
