A special milestone for Roane State and the Fentress County community! 🏫

We had the opportunity to honor the land donors, Fentress County Government, for their role in bringing the new campus to life, and Mrs. Claudine Pinckley and her late husband, Guy, for their support of Roane State students. A new Community Room, named in honor of the Pinckleys, was also unveiled during the celebration.

We also announced a new goal to create a $1 million scholarship endowment for Fentress County students. Thanks to early supporters, we’re already 10% of the way there! 🎉

We celebrated a special moment at the Roane State Oak Ridge Campus as we honored Dr. Shirley Raines with a classroom named in recognition of her dedication, leadership, and service to Roane State. As part of her work at RSCC, she started the Early Childhood Education program years ago.

As a valued member of the Roane State Foundation Board, Dr. Raines has helped advance the Foundation’s mission and support opportunities for students across our region.

We are grateful for her continued commitment and the impact she has made on the Roane State community.

It’s been an exciting time for education and workforce development in East Tennessee!

From the East Tennessee Economic Council - ETEC NOW Conference, focused on nuclear career opportunities, to a ribbon-cutting celebrating new opportunities at Tennessee College of Applied Technology Harriman, we’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to create pathways for students and support the future workforce.
