At Roane County Rescue Squad, we believe staying prepared means never stopping learning. We were fortunate to send 8 members to the TARS Convention to advance our training and continue improving the skills we rely on when our community needs us.

We’d like to recognize Thomas Utter for becoming an instructor in Vehicle Extrication and Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC), and Ethan Wright for becoming an instructor in Vehicle Extrication. We appreciate their commitment to furthering their knowledge and helping train the next generation of responders.

We’d also like to give a shoutout to Tommy Hardin, DJ Wade, David Gates, Ethan Wright, Kirstin Wright, Thomas Utter, Jake Hayes, and Kevin Sheppard for beginning their trench rescue certification during the convention. Continuing to pursue advanced training helps us build the skills needed to respond to challenging and technical rescue incidents.

We’re proud to share that our Chief, Jake Hayes, was honored with the John Stiles Award at this year’s TARS Convention. We’re grateful for this recognition and proud of the dedication and commitment that continue to make Roane County Rescue Squad what it is today.

Last but definitely not least, the man behind the camera most of the time Benny Braden Jr. was elected state historian for TARS for the 26/27 year
Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone who continues to invest their time and effort into making Roane County Rescue Squad what it is today. We’re proud of our members and their continued commitment to serving our community!

🚨 BIG RIG RESCUE TRAINING 🚨

Your Roane County Rescue Squad, alongside Roane County (TN) Office of Emergency Services & Homeland Security, Rockwood Fire Department, and Monroe County Rescue Squad, participated in Big Rig Rescue training over the weekend.

We battled the heat 🌡️ and the rain 🌧️, but everyone pushed through, sharpened their skills, and walked away with exceptional hands-on knowledge!

A HUGE thank you to Lowes Tow's for providing the property and equipment, and to Skellys Towing for your continued support. It is truly appreciated!

📸 And to the guy behind the camera capturing these trainings — The Real Benny Braden and Rescue Company Media— thank you for documenting what we do!

Last but certainly not least, thank you to the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads (TARS) for providing the instructors and making this training possible.

Train hard. Stay ready. Serve our community. 🚨💪

25 years later, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

Today, we honor every first responder who answered the call on 9/11 — firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, dispatchers, search and rescue teams, and countless others who ran toward danger to help others.

We also remember the first responders who continued working in the days, weeks, and years that followed, and those who have suffered lasting effects from their service.

Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to others represent the very best of the emergency services community.

From the Roane County Rescue Squad, we remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and recognize the first responders who continue to answer the call every day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🌊 Boat Training Weekend 🚤

Our team was out on the water this weekend getting in some valuable boat training. Training like this is what keeps us prepared, confident, and ready to respond when the call comes.

We truly appreciate everyone’s dedication and willingness to give up their time to continue learning, training, and improving their skills. You never know when the time will come to put that training to work, but when it does, we’ll be ready.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, put in the work, and make our team stronger! 💪🚨

Train today. Be ready tomorrow.
