This little one and her goat have something very important in common.
They both need a safe place to call home.
In Karatu, Tanzania, a healthy dairy goat is more than a pet. She is a lifeline. A single healthy dairy goat can produce up to 2 liters of fresh milk every day, nourishing children, supplementing family meals, and generating income at the local market. Her kids grow the herd. Her herd grows a future.
But here is something most people don't know. A goat that sleeps outside, exposed to the elements and predators, is a vulnerable goat. Illness, injury, and stress all reduce milk production and put the family's investment at risk. That is why one of the 17 Points of a Healthy Home that every FFHC family works toward is building a proper house for their animals. A well-built goat shed is not a luxury. It is the foundation that makes everything else possible.
Food For His Children families build their own sheds using local materials, with their own hands. If you feel called to help put a healthy goat inside one, we would love to tell you how. Visit foodforhischildren.org
