Thanks to Harrisburg’s Nigerian community for inviting me to the Iri-Ji Festival, which celebrates a bountiful yam harvest.

Yams are considered the king of crops in Igbo culture because of their economic, social, and cultural importance.

The New Yam Festival symbolizes gratitude, prosperity, hard work, and the hope for a bountiful harvest in the coming year. It also serves as an occasion to preserve and showcase Igbo cultural heritage.

I had a wonderful time with my legislative colleagues saluting Ms. Ciera Dent on her service as Mayor of Steelton. She led Steelton Borough gracefully, and her steady hand of leadership will be missed.

It was pleasure to meet Gold Star Girl Scouts Noelle and Jasmine and hear about their perseverance to achieve the highest honor in Scouting!

For their projects, Jasmine made and distributed hundreds of mental health kits and Noelle built a community garden at the West Hanover Recreation Center.

I recently had the opportunity with my daughter to visit the Historic Dennis Farm in Susquehanna County to celebrate a permanent Liberty Bell placement for America 250.

The Dennis Farm is one of the oldest Black-owned family farms in the United States and several members of the Dennis-Perkins line were veterans of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.

It was a joy visiting Ms. Denise Dennis, the current matriarch of the family, and hearing the living history of her amazing family!

We'll be having maintenance done at our District Office tomorrow, so catch us down the street at East Shore Area Library...

I’m proud to share that PennDOT recently approved a big infrastructure improvement project in Lower Paxton Township!

Over $970,000 was secured to improve mobility and safety along Prince Street and Houcks Road by converting the existing five-legged intersection into a traditional four-legged intersection, improving alignment at the intersection for safer pedestrian crossings and replacing an outdated signal.

The grant was awarded through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund. The program provides financial assistance for priority transportation investments across Pennsylvania and is designed to ensure that residents have access to a safe and reliable transportation system.
