Elena Emelchin Brunner, the Immigration Justice Organizer for Asian Americans United, is here to tell you that organizing works. The ICE Out package in Philadelphia didn't happen by accident. It was a result of immigrant communities, advocates, and everyday people coming together to fight for it. Now it's time to take that momentum statewide.

Last week we collaborated with to host our first ever Stories Served Asian Pacific American Heritage Month dinner! Our hearts and bellies are still full from sharing space with AAPI creators in Philadelphia, making new connections, hearing your stories, and bonding over our cultural food. Big props to Candice for working with us to create such a beautiful event that brought our community together. We were so proud to celebrate our incredible volunteers and community members by bringing everyone together to share food, reflect on the election, and talk about the work ahead.

From knocking doors to talking with neighbors, so many people showed up to make their voices heard and build people power in our communities.

And the organizing continues. We’ll keep working to end our local governments’ collaboration with ICE and build communities that protect families instead of tearing them apart.

Thank you for running a campaign that was proudly pro-working people, anti-ICE and anti-genocide. We are proud about the work we did to mobilize Asian Americans in Harrisburg to vote for you! And we will to continue fighting alongside you to make sure that our communities feel safe and have what they need to thrive.
