Dauphin County's System of Care works to improve communication and collaboration between all child-serving systems, strengthen relationships between families and systems, and connect informal supports and formal child-service systems to better serve children and families.

Garden To The Table is back for another session, in partnership with Harrisburg PA Mayor Wanda Williams, Health Office Director Nelva Wright, and Penn State Nutrition Links' Helen Green.

FREE TO THE COMMUNITY! We are looking for 7 families to join our agricultural program where you and your loved ones will have hands-on sessions learning how to make one-pot nutrient-dense meals with your own tools at home 🥬

📅 Session Dates: Monday, November 28–Thursday, December 22
⌚️ Days/Times: Mondays & Thursdays 5:30-7:30 PM
🌱 Location: 2135 N 6th Street · Harrisburg, PA 17110

There will be an artistic component where we create a workbook out of cereal boxes; we will be using them to keep participant recipes, notes, and lessen waste! The hands-on demonstration will include:

🥬 How to properly use copper electric skillets while maintaining long-term use
🥬 Simple nutrient-dense meals and how to utilize copper cookware
🥬 Understanding of food safety guidelines and instructions

Families that complete and attend all Garden to the Table weekly sessions will receive a certificate of completion, skillets, and other non-perishable materials to get healthy at home. Participants must attend all four weeks to complete the program.

Join the City of Harrisburg for the annual Cargill Holiday Parade! This year’s theme is “Very Vibrant Holiday.” The parade will feature giant parade balloons, marching band and dance/step/drill team performances, decorated floats, characters, Santa Claus and more! We are making final preparations for Election Day and offer this guidance to those headed to the polls tomorrow:
- Photography/filming is NOT allowed inside a poll place.
- Campaigning is NOT allowed within 10 feet of a poll place entry door.
- Dauphin County DOES NOT permit voter intimidation. If you feel intimidated, report to the Judge of Elections at that precinct.


Tomorrow is Election Day. If you have not voted by mail, or via ballot drop-box, please make sure to have a plan to vote tomorrow, November 8th. Voting is the bedrock of our democracy and I encourage everyone to make sure their voice is heard.


With Operation Santa, individuals and organizations can send responses and thoughtful gifts in Santa’s place.
