Harrisburg will be the best small town in North Carolina based on low density housing, excellent economic opportunities, a safe living environment, and efficient and effective municipal services. Amenities such as excellent recreational programs, adequate open space, attractive shopping opportunities, a diversity of restaurant

s, and a connected system of roadways, sidewalks, greenways, and bicycle lanes will continue to enhance the quality of life of the Town. These services and amenities will be provided while retaining reasonable tax rates and debt levels. This vision for Harrisburg is supported by the following core values:

1. We value our identity as a small town and believe that everything possible should be done to maintain that identity even as our population grows.

2. Having a connected system of open space, bikeways, greenways, sidewalks, and a pleasing variety of recreational opportunities enhance the quality of life of Harrisburg.

3. We believe that a renewed emphasis on economic development, especially the creation of highly skilled and well paying jobs, which will support an attractive balance of commercial and residential components in our tax base, is critical to developing a Town characterized by sustainable growth.

4. Our appeal as a small town is based partly on the natural beauty and history of the area, which requires us to engage our citizens in a continuing program of preserving and enhancing that beauty and of preserving our historical assets.

5. We believe in supporting citizen engagement and involvement in all matters relating to the well-being of our Town, and we believe that your Town government should actively seek ways to encourage open communications with our citizens.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Tripper Frye on his promotion to Lieutenant of the Harrisburg Division! 👏Lieutenant Frye has been a valued partner to the Town and our community, serving as a familiar face at community events and Town Council meetings.

Following the promotion of Lieutenant Josh Helm of our Harrisburg Division to Captain of the Administrative Services Division, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Tripper Frye to Lieutenant of the Harrisburg Division.

Lieutenant Frye has served with the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office since November 2013, beginning his career in the Detention Center before being promoted to Deputy Sheriff in 2014. Lieutenant Frye also serves on the Cabarrus County Peer Support Team and as a PepperBall operator with our Civil Emergency Response Tean (C.E.R.T) team. He is a certified Less Lethal Instructor and has completed numerous specialized law enforcement and leadership courses throughout his career.

His commitment to service was highlighted in 2023 when his lifesaving response to a juvenile gunshot victim was featured by ABC News Nightline.

We congratulate Lieutenant Tripper Frye on his well-earned promotion and look forward to his continued leadership and service to the Harrisburg community.

August was another busy month in Harrisburg! ☀️ Here’s a recap ➡️

🎸 Rockin’ the Burg was electric as September: A Tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire brought all of your favorite hits to Harrisburg Park!
🏗️ The Town completed the Cambridge Drive Extension, creating a new connection between the Davis Creek neighborhood and Town Center with a new roadway, sidewalks, fencing, and approximately 1,000 feet of greenway.
🚒 Harrisburg Fire Department hosted summer camp activities at the Harrisburg YMCA, giving kids a hands-on look at fire safety and life as a firefighter through interactive activities, demonstrations, and a tour of the fire station.
🤝 Harrisburg Fire Department also joined the community for the 6th Annual National Night Out, helping strengthen connections between public safety and the community.
🚀 We introduced the 2026–2027 Harrisburg Youth Council! Members kicked off the year with a retreat focused on team building and Capstone Project planning, followed by their first meeting on August 25 to begin developing ideas for this year’s project. Stay tuned for what’s ahead!
🧺 The Harrisburg Farmers Market continued to be a Thursday favorite, bringing local vendors and shoppers together on Main Street. There’s only one month left in the 2026 market season, so don’t miss it!
🌳 Multicultural Knights gave back at Harrisburg Park through their monthly Adopt-a-Park initiative, combining a park cleanup with youth wellness activities, mentorship, and community connection.

Thank you for making August another great month in Harrisburg! ❤️
