Sorry for the late post but our Annual DUI Victims Memorial 10k run/1 mile walk was held this past Saturday. We cannot thank our participants, sponsors, and employees enough for an amazing event. The weather was perfect!!! Shout out to our sponsors: Intoxalock, Utz Snacks, HERSHEY'S, Sheetz, Karns Foods, Sam's Club, Gabriels Pizza, and Buhrig's Gathering Place. Also, thanks to Farm Show Milkshakes and MADD New York, New Jersey, & Pennsylvania for being on hand and to the PA State Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy for sending Cadets from the 166th Cadet Class to participate. Proceeds from the event are used for maintenance and upkeep of our DUI Victims Memorial Garden. Hope to see you all next year!!!

The 30th Pennsylvania Drug Recognition Expert School started today in Harrisburg. Good luck to the 5 Municipal Officers and 13 State Troopers in the class. Also, thank you to Major Robert Krol and Lieutenant Deanna Sell from the State Police Bureau of Patrol for addressing the class and providing words of encouragement and inspiration

Super Bowl Sunday continually ranks as one of the most dangerous times of the year for drunk driving deaths. Use these MADD tips before the celebration begins:

🏈 Designate a non-drinking, unimpaired driver
🏈 Use rideshare or public transportation
🏈 Never get into a vehicle with someone who is impaired by alcohol or other drugs

Congratulations to Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier who was awarded the 2022 PA Drug Recognition Expert Award of Excellence. The award recognizes those who support the Pennsylvania Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program.

DRE's are highly trained to recognize when an individual has been driving under the influence of alcohol. Lozier received the award at the PA DUI Association's 25th Anniversary banquet.

Deana’s Law will increase the penalties for impaired driving offenses. The law went into effect this week.

The 16 students in DRE 29 class have 1 more step to finish. This group also assisted 6 individuals with enrolling in a substance use treatment program.

The Final Knowledge Exam is scheduled for next week.
