Today we’re sharing one of two honorable mention PSA video, titled “Why I Stay”, submitted by Merissa Moore from Pocono Mountain West High School!

Merissa shared the following message with her PSA: “Through mental illness, it’s easy to feel alone, lost, and invisible. I wanted to create this video to showcase the reality of depression. There’s no battle too hard, no sickness to harsh, and no thought too strong to see the light on the other side, but sometimes it takes a hand hold, a hug, or even a look to find the hope to keep going. The message being that you might feel alone but there’re so many people who have our back and that being said, there will always be a reason to stay.”

Today we’re sharing the honorable mention poster, titled “Small Steps Matter”, submitted by Paige Jenkins, Bailey Murray, and Taryn Newborn of Reach Cyber Charter School!

They shared the following message with their submission: “Members of the Club, a student-led su***de prevention and mental health awareness group at Reach Cyber Charter School, collaborated to create the Small Steps Matter poster. This project highlights the idea that even small actions, such as checking in on a friend, practicing self-care, or asking for help, can make a meaningful difference in mental health, su***de prevention, and well-being. The poster reminds students that progress does not need to be overwhelming and that every step forward counts. Through this work, Aevidum members hope to encourage peer support, reduce stigma surrounding mental health, and promote a caring and connected school community.”
