On May 16, the PA health department amended the commonwealth’s mask order by adding language for fully vaccinated people to allow for no face coverings consistent with the CDC guidance.

The masking requirement is still in effect for unvaccinated individuals until 70% of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older are fully vaccinated.

The CDC provided guidance that fully vaccinated individuals can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing except where required by law, rule and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

CMU’s workplace guidance recognizes that fully vaccinated persons do not have to wear a mask or physically distance. While unvaccinated individuals are required to wear a mask, there may be some vaccinated individuals that are not comfortable with the guidance and may continue to wear a mask.

Vaccinated or not, CMU staff should maintain a social distance of 6 feet when in the presence of a masked individual.

Additionally, vaccinated individuals should check with and defer to consumer or provider requests to wear a mask and social distance in their presence.

How to deal with anxiety about returning to “normal”

May is Mental Health Awareness month. Even as our daily lives get more predictable, there is still a lot of uncertainty, because we can’t predict the time course of the pandemic. The global pandemic has forced us to cope with situations we never evened imagined.
The good news is that there are resources available that can support the well-being of children, individuals, families and communities.
Visit CMU’s website at www.cmupa.org and click on the Take a Checkup from the Neck up box for a mental health screening from www.mhanational.org. It is a quick, free, and confidential way for someone to assess their mental health and begin finding hope and healing. #depression #anxiety #wellbeing
