University students in the Neumann Investigative Technology Excellence Center are helping to solve crimes in real time.

In just two years, Neumann University’s student‑driven digital forensics lab has assisted with nearly 1,000 cases across 64 police departments and agencies. From homicides and missing persons to thefts, burglaries, and complex digital investigations, student analysts are helping officers solve cases quickly and effectively.

Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse praised the N.I.T.E Center for not only helping to solve crimes in real time, but also preparing the next generation of crime‑solving professionals.

Neumann University's N.I.T.E. Center has assisted with 988 cases across 64 agencies in just two years, giving students real-world experience.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. PDAA Executive Director Kelly Callihan joined seniors, families, caregivers, and lawmakers at a press conference at the state Capitol to shine a light on a crime that too often goes unseen.

She said, “Prosecutors will continue to work with police and local service providers, including county Area Agencies on Aging, to identify elder physical, sexual, and financial abuse and hold offenders accountable. We need everyone to do more to protect our older family members, friends and neighbors.”

Anyone’s older parent, grandparent, neighbor, or friend could be a victim of physical, emotional, or financial abuse. If you suspect elder abuse or financial exploitation, don’t wait. Contact your county’s Area Agency on Aging or your local district attorney’s office. Your call could protect someone you love.💜

Dauphin County DA Fran Chardo and Cumberland County DA Seán McCormack joined the Children's Advocacy Centers of Pennsylvania at the Capitol this week to support H.B. 2443, which would create the Child Victim Recovery Fund.

The Fund would be paid for by fees from convicted child sexual abuse offenders, not taxpayers, and is estimated to generate $3–4 million annually to help close the statewide funding gap for services that support child abuse victims.

Pennsylvania’s prosecutors know that fighting child abuse must include support for victims. Supporting H.B. 2443 and other funding is an investment in safety, justice, and healing for the most vulnerable among us.

Anti-human trafficking advocates, survivors, service providers, and legislative partners from across Pennsylvania were at the State Capitol today calling upon lawmakers to enact survivor-centered policy solutions and strengthen collaboration to prevent human trafficking and support those impacted. Their plan centers on 4 Ps:

☑️ Prosecution
☑️ Prevention
☑️ Protection
☑️ Partnership

Pennsylvania’s district attorneys stand with advocates in their efforts to ensure that Pennsylvania continues moving toward a survivor-centered, prevention-driven, and justice-focused response to human trafficking.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Pennsylvania Courts released an infographic highlighting data from the state’s mental health courts. The numbers tell an encouraging story. The program offers defendants the opportunity to avoid incarceration through the completion of a rigorous program that requires compliance with community supervision and mandated treatment.

Pennsylvania’s prosectors often refer individuals charged with non-violent crimes to diversion programs like these, Often, when defendants receive treatment for mental health and substance use disorder, they are less likely to reoffend.

May 25th was National Missing Children’s Day.

Yesterday, today, and every day, Pennsylvania’s district attorneys stand with families searching for answers and remain committed to pursuing every lead that could bring missing children home.

If you have information about a missing child, contact local law enforcement or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1‑800‑THE‑LOST (1‑800‑843‑5678).

Prevention matters, too. NCMEC’s KidSmartz program helps young children learn the 4 Rules of Personal Safety through simple, appropriate lessons and activities.
