Thanks for helping us out.

[TEXT]: Show off your #SocialGood by donating your gently worn, used and new shoes to our #ShoeDrive fundraiser! Every pair you donate turns into funds for us, is kept out of landfills and helps micro-entrepreneurs around the world!

Thanks to the following businesses and organizations in the community who are supporting us by having drop boxes for shoe collection: Aardvark Sports Shop - Bethlehem, Guardian Life, AMC Theatres Allentown 16, Tilghman Square 8 and Center Valley 16 locations, Lehigh Carbon Community College, and Traditions of America at Saucon Valley. More locations to be announced!

Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living (LVCIL) is partnering with Funds2Orgs who will collect these shoes from LVCIL and deliver them to people in developing nations who start micro-businesses that will create a sustainable income for their families.

All shoes can be dropped off at LVCIL's Allentown office.
The only thing we can't take is ice skates and rollers skates, but we'll take all cleats, flip flops, shoes, sneakers, boots, and slippers in good condition with no rips, holes, or tears.

Really important day!!!

#InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay is a global event that aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
Every overdose was someone’s child, someone’s grandchild.

Update!

WELCOME HOME JAMES!

This process started over a year ago in Long Island, NY. James' wife kept getting the run-around with every phone call she made. This was taking a toll on James' faith in returning home.

Directed to Community Health Choices and the Nursing Home Transition Program, things finally started in the right direction...only to come to a halt when PA Health & Wellness wasn't sure how to provide services to him in another state. After many phone calls, PA H&W agreed to make an exception to help get James back to his family!

James returned home yesterday to his wife and mother and there was not a dry eye in the house.

As staff was leaving, James used all his strength to push himself up to a sitting position. He whispered, "I want to hug you and thank you too."

James is currently learning to use his voice again.

This brought even more tears to everyone's eyes!

James has a special phrase he says when saying good-bye, "Take care and brush your hair."
