Clarion Conservation District installed educational signs on preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species! The signs were placed at five local parks and boat launches.

Financial and other support for the PRISM Pilot Program in NW Pennsylvania is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. through a Landscape Scale Restoration Grant with the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

National Association of Conservation Districts is excited to unveil the official 2027 Stewardship Week theme, From Source to Sea: Every Drop Has a Journey.

The 2027 theme reminds us that water does not exist in isolation. What happens upstream affects everything downstream. The choices we make to protect soil, reduce erosion, plant trees, restore habitats, and use water wisely all influence the quality of the water that continues its journey.

No matter where you call home, water connects us all. From the smallest headwater stream to the open sea, every action we take helps shape its journey, because From Source to Sea, Every Drop Has a Journey.

Outstanding in Their Field - Highlighting PA conservation district employees who go above and beyond.

Earlier this month, the McKean County Conservation District hosted two youth programs—one with their local 4-H members and the other with the YMCA.

The young conservationists learned all about the importance of pollinators and the role they play in keeping our ecosystems healthy.

Participants were even able to release monarch butterflies!

The Pennsylvania Wildlife Action Plan is updated. Public comment is being accepted for the 2025-35 Pennsylvania Wildlife Action Plan.

The Pennsylvania Wildlife Action Plan is the Commonwealth’s blueprint to conserve Pennsylvania’s native fish and wildlife, maintain resilient habitat, and protect and enhance Species of Greatest Conservation Need.

Together with the Pennsylvania Game Commission we wrote the first wildlife action plan in 2005 and have now updated it.

The revised draft plan has 858 Species of Greatest Need including 86 birds, 21 mammals, 19 amphibians, 18 reptiles, 47 fishes, and 667 invertebrates that require attention.

On July 28, 2026, the Columbia County Conservation District, Montour County Conservation District, and Luzerne Conservation District, in conjunction with Haz-Wald Farms, held their annual Summer Soil Health Field Day in Sugarloaf, Luzerne County.
