Lt. Governor Austin Davis

Lt. Governor Austin Davis Harper’s Dad | Blayre’s Husband | Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania

Last night, Central Berks Regional Police lost one of their own in a terrible tragedy. Blayre and I are praying for the family, friends, and loved ones of Officer Kristen Yeager along with our entire law enforcement family.

Officer Yeager answered the call to serve her community with dedication and courage and that’s how she’ll be remembered.

Pennsylvania is grateful for her service now and always.

Today, Blayre joined the North Shore Chamber of Commerce’s Child Care Symposium to speak about the importance of affordable, high-quality child care for working families across Pennsylvania.

Child care workers are caring for our most precious resource – our children – and their work deserves dignity, respect and our support. By continuing to invest in child care and early learning, we are investing in stronger families, and a stronger Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvanians have made their concerns loud and clear on data centers and their direct impact on local resources – and rightly so. That’s why we’ve laid out new standards that are required to be met by any data center developer that wants Commonwealth support.

This means developers must pay for their own energy consumption, without raising energy costs for consumers, and meet our environmental requirements to protect air and water quality. They must also work with the community to ensure transparency and local job creation.

Data center development should be done responsibly and with the best interests of Pennsylvanians in mind.

Blayre and I wish Pennsylvania’s Muslim community a peaceful and safe Eid al-Adha!

As friends, neighbors and family gather to celebrate this week, may this Eid bring you peace and joy. Eid Mubarak!

Since the start of this nation, Pennsylvanians have been called up to defend their Commonwealth and defend their country against threats to our freedoms, at home and abroad. Too many of us have made the ultimate sacrifice. Too many soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and coast guardsmen did not come home to their families and loved ones.

On this Memorial Day, we honor their memories and pray for the families whose fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters aren’t with them tonight. May their memories be a blessing.

Last week, Blayre had the honor of moderating the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women Statewide Listening Tour in Pittsburgh.

The conversations shared in the room were powerful, honest, and meaningful. Women from different walks of life and experiences came together to speak openly about the challenges they face, the progress they want to see, and the future they envision for Pennsylvania.

I often say that the people closest to the pain should be closest to the power. Our polices are strongest when they are shaped by the people living these realities every day and this tour is helping to shape the path forward.

As Lieutenant Governor, it’s an honor to also serve as the Chairman of the Board of Pardons and recommend pardons for the Pennsylvanians who have turned their lives around and now serve their communities.

Edwin Desamour earned a pardon himself in 2024 and now serves his community as Executive Director of The Lighthouse, working to make sure kids make good choices and stay away from violence.

Over the past three years, I have worked with our state partners to provide state investments to local organizations that provide safe and enriching programs to children and teenagers to keep them off the streets and out of trouble.

The Lighthouse in Kensington is one of these places and was recently awarded $500,000 to support their engaging programs for youth and families.
