FALL IS FOR TREE PLANTING!

This fall the City will be planting street trees in the Camp Curtin area, through a grant from the Community Covenant Corporation. The area included is between Division and Maclay Streets, and between Logan and 7th Streets. If you live in that part of the City and would like a new tree on your street, please let the City Forester know. Funds are limited and requests will be honored on a first come first served basis until September 15.

If you’re a Camp Curtin resident interested in a street tree, or if you’d like to help plant this fall, please contact Ellen Roane, City Forester at [email protected].

There is a LOT of poison hemlock along riverfront and the greenbelt. Is there a plan to remove this?
On June 11, I requested a permit to remove a dead tree in front of my house. On July 1, I was told someone would look at my tree that day. I've yet to receive the permit or any further information about cost, whether granting the permit automatically grants no parking for the removal, or whether I needed to provide any other information. On Sunday, my new neighbor complained to my wife that a high wind could knock the tree over and cause damage to their house or car. I doubt that's the case, but that's not a good way to be introduced. I have a company lined up to remove the tree. I just need a permit.
