WORKING FIRE
Crews operated on a 1st alarm building fire in the 900 block of N 3rd street early this morning. Two lines were stretched and quick work was made of the fire in the second floor rear kitchen. B platoon working , LT Lohin(OT), Chauffeur Barbolish, Pipeman Booz (OT).

Congrats Brothers!

A Platoon hosted a gathering to celebrate the retirement of Tower 1 driver John Matson badge #56 after 20 years of service to the City of Harrisburg. A Platoon also honored Lt. Matt K***z badge #403 on his future retirement after 23 years of service to the City of Harrisburg. Congratulations to you both, well done!

*Upcoming Retirement*
This Friday, March 20th will be the last working day for the HFD's senior man, Ron Gallatin, Jr. (Inspector G) after 36 years of service. Family, friends, and HFD members (retired and active) are invited for a time of fellowship and light refreshments at Station 1 this Friday, from 1600-1800 hrs. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to Tim and his team at ARS! Squad members as well as members from the uptown and the Hill received “train the trainer” on the Anderson Roof Ops kit. HBF will be rolling out these kits to front line apparatus in the near future. Anderson Rescue Solutions, LLC is the best in the business when it comes to well thought out products for firemen!

Crews operated on a 2 alarm fire just before shift change, in the 400blk of Hummel st. With fire in several units of a 3 story row. The video below shows B shift Squad crew opening a “Harrisburg hallway” through the brick party wall from an exposure to access one of the fire buildings. Harrisburg hallways are a labor intensive operation but efficiently provide access and egress to crews when stairwells are compromised in the fire buildings. B &C working

B platoon Squad and uptown crews did some hose line stretching, helping rookies get some reps and taking advantage of the nice weather.
