Come in sometime to see these in their new home! Most are on the right by the tech office, but one has a special new home by the back exit—the artist was there when the custodians were putting them up, so she got to choose her square!

You're invited! Come join our Hickory Ridge Middle School students and staff as we celebrate the power of the spoken word!

Eleven students and several staff have signed up to share their original or favorite poems, and we can't wait for you to hear from them! Enjoy the vibe as we turn the MC into a coffee shop-style open mic.

Doors open for poetry-themed activities and mingling at 5:30, readings start at 6:00.

Last breakouts of the year! We started with one team last week, and we finished with the rest of 6th grade Wednesday and today.

Breakouts are exhausting but wonderful - it's some of the most rewarding work we do. Students have to work together (even when they don't like each other, which we say is practice for adulthood), and they have to really stretch their thinking to solve problems.

This year’s breakouts began—full honesty, here—with kids feeling anxious, complaining, shouting, and turning their backs on their groups. But through practice and support, they got to where they were able to accomplish all kinds of things with various teammates! Makes our teacher heart proud. 🥹

Congrats on a strong year of growth, 6th grade Mavericks! These skills will serve you well!

Welcome to the Visual Arts + CompSci VIDEO GAME COLLAB—7th grade creator fair/game demo!

Ms. Moore’s computer engineers and Ms. Kiral’s visual artists collaborated to create original video games, which WE all got to play! Students from all three grades toured the cafeteria and tested games their fellow Mavericks created.

We love learning opportunities like this! Thanks for making it happen and inviting the rest of us, Ms. Moore and Ms. Kiral!

We are THRILLED to introduce you to our new fur buddies, Hermione and Percy! These bonded siblings were rescued after their former owner moved to a pet-free senior home. We can't wait to give them all the love and pets here in the MC!!!

Don't forget to take your allergy meds! Their affection will be worth it! 🐾 💙 🐈‍⬛
