Happy 250th birthday to America 🎇

Throughout the day our police officers on foot, bike and in cars are out in our community. Our officers are out in force to make sure all residents are able to celebrate America’s birthday safely.

Our officers made a stop at the 28th annual Hillcrest Road 4th of July parade. Officers and members of Progress Fire 32 assisted with traffic control for those participating in the neighborhood parade. This event brought together over 150 families and friends to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The Susquehanna Township Police Department would like to remind all residents of the Township Ordinance in regards to the use of fireworks.

- Fireworks cannot be ignited on any property of the Township, including, but not limited to streets, sidewalks, public parks or public buildings.
- Fireworks cannot be ignited on private property without the permission of the property owner.
- Fireworks cannot be ignited within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
- Fireworks cannot be ignited on a property of less than one acre in area.
- Fireworks cannot be used by anyone under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
- Residents using fireworks in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the township may do so between the hours of 7am and 10pm.

The Susquehanna Township Police Department joined the 2026 Special Olympics USA members in the “Final leg for Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run” on its way to the National games in Minnesota. Susquehanna Township along with many other agencies throughout the Commonwealth are proud to support this amazing venture as well as the incredible athletes. We look forward to supporting at every opportunity.

The Susquehanna Township Police Department would like to remind all citizens, to please lock your vehicles and do not leave any valuable items inside( car keys, fi****ms, wallets, purses, cell phones, electronics, money, etc.). Also, secure all bicycles, scooters or other valuables in and around your home.

With the weather changing, there has been an increase of vehicle thefts, thefts from vehicles and stolen bicycles in Dauphin County.

If you notice anything suspicious or become a victim, please call your local Police Department right away.

Collision Investigation C26-0007206

On April 15, 2026, the Susquehanna Township Police Department was dispatched to a single vehicle Collision involving serious injuries in the 5100 block of N. Front Street. North Front Street was closed for several hours while the Susquehanna Township Police Department with the assistance of the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the scene. The roadway has since been reopened. The Susquehanna Township Police Department is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to please call (717-652-8265.

FOUND DOG

The Susquehanna Township Police Department is searching for the owner of this brown and white dog, found in the area of 2500 Interstate Drive. If this is your dog please contact the Susquehanna Township Police Department or Dauphin County Dispatch.

Update: The dog was taken to the Humane Society.
