What a blessing for all this rain. Stonewall low water slab has been closed, again. It will remain closed for the night. Please be safe on all low water crossings in the area. Most have probably washed and impossible to tell how deep the water is. Stay safe.

The Harrison Fire Department has temporarily closed all low-water slabs within the city, with the exception of Speer. If you encounter a closed slab, please be advised that it is currently inaccessible. Once the water recedes, please contact us at 870-741-6384 to arrange for reopening.

Earlier this month we spent the afternoon with Classical Conversations Home School group, utilizing Truck 1 to conduct an egg drop experiment. Each student was provided with materials to construct baskets designed to protect eggs during the drop from a height of 15 feet, with only a few eggs surviving the fall. Thank you for including us in your experiment.

Our B-shift team successfully executed a water rescue simulation on one of the low water slabs last week. This drill is part of our persistent efforts to be prepared for rain.

C-shift training today on simulating a tight crack in a bluff or any confined space rope rescue. Not to mention, yesterday they repaired a couple of curbs that were damaged this winter at city hall/central fire station. Thank you guys for all you do.
