NWAEDD was excited to bring communities together for the annual Park Grant Workshop this week! Much thanks to Harrison Parks and Recreation for offering a great meeting space to host the workshop at the Creekside Community Center.

This workshop was designed for cities and counties interested in developing, improving, or expanding local parks and trail amenities. Participants had time for questions, discussion, and learning more about funding opportunities available through the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism.

We appreciate everyone who joined us to plan for outdoor spaces across the region!

A.I. Training Opportunity for Employees of City & County Governments, Non-Profits, & Chambers of Commerce!

NWAEDD and 7 Minute A.I. are partnering to host an A.I. training workshop on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Center on the South Campus of North Arkansas College in Harrison. The workshop will provide practical tools for utilizing A.I. in everyday work that will enable employees to operate more efficiently. Registration information is available at the link below!

Applause for the Valley Springs Fire Department’s achievement! Through a $15,000 matching grant, the department successfully acquired 8 new sets of high-quality turnout gear, enhancing firefighter safety and readiness while serving the community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Division of Rural Services for funding this vital project, and to Boone County for their partnership and support in securing the grant award.
