The City of Bergman Water Department has notified us that the well on Wooded Hills Road is currently down for maintenance. During this time, the water supply in that area is limited.

Due to these conditions, the fire department has been asked not to use fire hydrants in that area to fill apparatus tanks until the system is back to normal.

The water department expects repairs to be completed within approximately two weeks, and they will notify us as soon as the well is back online and hydrants can be used as normal.

🔥 What this means for you:
• Fire protection is still in place
• We will respond to all emergencies as usual
• We may utilize alternative water supply methods if needed

Please know that public safety remains our top priority. In the event of an emergency, we will use any and all available resources to protect lives and property within our district.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you updated as we receive more information.

“Volunteerism is just not there anymore. Nobody wants to volunteer,” Chad Goodman, fire chief of West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department, said. “We’ve had people stop in, want to join and once they find out there’s no pay involved, that’s it; they are done. They want the money.” https://tinyurl.com/2nm23adc

đźš’ Tanker 1 Rebuild Update đźš’

We’re currently in the process of rebuilding Tanker 1 to improve reliability and better serve our community.

The previous tank, which was a polyurethane tank, had experienced multiple failures and ruptures over time. Due to those ongoing issues, we made the decision to move in a different direction.

Our team is now fabricating a custom steel tank that will provide increased durability and long-term dependability in the field.

We’ll be sharing photos of the progress so far, and we’ll continue to post updates as the build moves forward.

We appreciate the continued support from our community as we work to keep our equipment in top condition and ready to respond when needed.

Mind you we are doing this ourselves to save money to put toward other needs. It’s great to have members with the knowledge to pull a build like this off instead of paying upwards of $20,000 for someone else to do it!

Earlier today, Bergman Fire Department responded to a report of a trash burn that had gotten out of control.

This incident occurred during an active burn ban, where no outdoor burning is allowed.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire had spread quickly, igniting a vehicle, a tractor, and multiple lawnmowers. Firefighters acted quickly to contain the fire and were able to successfully protect nearby structures from being damaged.

Let this serve as a serious reminder — burn bans are put in place for a reason. Conditions are extremely dry, and fires can get out of control in seconds, putting lives and property at risk.

There should be no burning of any kind during a burn ban.

We are fortunate this situation did not result in injuries or loss of structures.

We ask everyone to please follow the burn ban and help us keep our community safe.

🔥 Bergman Fire Department 🔥

Yesterday, our crews responded to a large wildfire that burned over 80+ acres in our area. Thanks to the quick response, teamwork, and relentless effort of multiple agencies, we were able to successfully protect what matters most.

Because of that combined effort, 3 homes and several barns in the immediate area were saved from destruction.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all responding departments and personnel who worked side by side with us. Situations like this show just how strong our fire service community is when we come together.

Your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to jump in and help does not go unnoticed. We are proud to stand alongside each of you.

đźš’ Strong work by all involved.

We beg of you please do NOT burn under the current weather conditions. The humidity is low, wind and no rain causes our area to be in extreme fire danger! We are currently working with the county government to place a burn ban in effect! We have had 3 fires this weekend and our volunteers need family time!

The entire state is currently at a moderate wildfire danger level, and with temperatures expected to climb well above normal this weekend, conditions could worsen. Even small sparks can lead to fast‑moving fires, so we’re asking all Arkansans to stay alert and use caution.

If you see smoke or an active fire, report it immediately by calling the Department’s dispatch line at 1‑800‑468‑8834 or contacting local authorities.

Although it is not official, fire chiefs in the county have requested the burn ban to be lifted. I am giving the go ahead for anybody in the Bergman Fire District to burn along with most all chiefs in the county.
