Congratulations to the Harrison 150 Committee on a successful gala celebration, and thank you for your leadership and service as we commemorate this important milestone in Harrison's history. We appreciate all you do for our community!

Mayor Jackson would like to thank the City of Harrison 150 Committee for putting on a fabulous gala last Saturday night. The evening was filled with fun, great food, and well-deserved recognition of several local businesses. To cap it all off, Lee Dunlap was honored for his outstanding contributions to our community. The members of the committee are to be commended for their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail in making this event such a tremendous success. Harrison’s 150th celebration is in great hands thanks to their efforts of these volunteers Mitch Magness, (chairman; from back left), Troy Massey, Mike Wood, Amanda Woodworth, Donna Braymer, Robin Reeves, Sheri Keeton, Emily Powers and Tyler Gentry. 🐾✂️ What a purr-fect celebration!

We had such a fun morning celebrating the Ribbon Cutting for Beans & Whiskers Cat Café with owner Marty Mills, her team, and so many wonderful community members.

Beans & Whiskers is more than a café—it’s a place where coffee, fresh made-to-order churros, adoptable cats, and community come together. Their mission also supports cat fostering and adoption, creates meaningful employment opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum, and partners with local rescue organizations to help cats find loving homes.

🛡️ Protect yourself or your loved ones from Medicare fraud.

The best defense is prevention, but knowing how to spot fraud, errors, and abuse is just as important. If something doesn't look right on your Medicare statement, don't ignore it—report it. Help is available, and you're not alone.

As a community, we can all participate in Medicare Fraud Prevention Week by looking out for our older neighbors and community members.

For example, when you are out in public, be aware of older people purchasing gift cards in large amounts. If you see this, ask questions or mention gift card scams. Many people have helped stop a scam in its tracks by stepping in and asking questions.
