Three Ambulances! πŸš‘πŸš‘πŸš‘

EMS 99 joins the fleet of response ready vehicles for Harrison Ambulance.

Last year as part of her senior project, Lauren has been busy getting EMS 99 back up to transport standards after most of its equipment was used to furnish our newest ambulance EMS 97.

To complete this project Lauren fundraised, organized work days, and researched the equipment and requirements to get this rig ready to operate, and ultimately to get signed off by the state as a transport ready rig. This will increase our organizations capability and reduce response time in district.

Lauren and HCAA would like to thank several individuals for their role in getting this ambulance transport ready.

Hannah Tackett - for her help in ordering materials and helping make sure the rig was state compliant.

Shawn Unger - for helping with the wiring and radio systems.

CDA Home Depot - for donating tool kits and fire extinguishers

Joshua Lowery - for installing new batteries and the stretcher, as well as helping with admin on getting the bus state compliant.

Kyla Aulbach - for helping install the stretcher system.

Matt Greer - for being her Senior Project Advisor, suggesting the project, and encouraging her along the way.

Days of Dirt! πŸš‘πŸ

This last weekend, the ambulance was out supporting our friends at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway for their 5 days of dirt events.

Wednesday: Crews supported a moto-cross event, the first that HCAA has been on stand by for. Crews enjoyed learning the rules of the sport and supporting all the racers and their families!🏍

Thursday and Friday: Crews got a little more western and supported two days of Aces Wild Rodeo action. Crews supported this event last year and were on the edge of their seats for the team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. πŸŽπŸ‚

Saturday and Sunday: Crews stood by and watched the Spec-Ranger truck races and the Monster Truck show. Crews got to talk to cast members and learn the safety features of the vehicles.

Also shout out to Dishaw Photography for capturing some high quality pictures of the crew.

A big thank you to the crew for learning new skills and providing high quality care throughout the entire weekend. These events give us exposure and training that can be adapted to providing care in district. Also a big thank you to all the crew who made sure that district was safe while the standby crews were out.

Another Race Weekend! 🏁🏁

We had crews out this weekend supporting our friends at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway. It was an action packed weekend full of hot laps, and hot days! Crews supported races from many classes including Wing Sprints, Fever 4's, Bump to Pass, and many others!

Crews assisted spectators and racers alike with racing and heat related injuries. These opportunities make our providers much more experienced, and ready to help the people who commute, bike, and sun-tan in the Harrison area! Make sure you're staying hydrated out there!

Thanks Teach! πŸ€“

As our EMT class is now finished we wanted to take a moment and thank the phenomenal teaching staff that helped put this class on. These individuals spent over 500 man (and woman) hours into planning, instructing, grading, proctoring, coaching, and mentoring this year's EMT class.

The group consisted of EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, and Physicians who poured their large depth of operational and instructional knowledge over this class. We had instructors from Harrison Ambulance, East Side Fire, St. Maries Fire, and Silver Mountain donate their time to teach this phenomenal group of students. The graduates of this class will practice medicine all over the area. In total we had 10 graduates; 3 from Harrison Ambulance, 5 from St. Maries Fire District, and 2 with Silver Mountain Ski Patrol.

In no particular order thank you to the following instructors, without you this class would not have been possible.

Dixon Brown - NRP - HCAA
Josh Lowery - NREMT - HCAA
Matt Greer - NRAEMT - HCAA
Charlotte Pegoraro - NRP - ESFD/HCAA
Hannah Tackett - NREMT - HCAA
Dr. Scott Spence - MD - B*H
George Dundas - NREMT - SMFD
Chris Mamola - NRP - HCAA
Aaron Visacara - CRNA - B*H
Joe Latragna - NREMT - SMFD
Monte White - NREMT - HCAA
Jim Westberry - FF - SMFD
Lauren Lowery - NREMT - HCAA

We are proud of the EMT graduates, and wish them success on their next adventures! We are currently planning for the next course. If you're interested, or would like more information, please email our HCAA training officer Matt Greer at [email protected]

Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It was a busy 4th for your local ambulance! We had a crew on standby for the 3rd of July at the Stateline Speedway's Day of Destruction! The crew responded to emergencies both on and off the track, and for one patient we called upon our friends at KCFR to transport a patient for a cardiac event.

On the 4th, our on-crew team got a call to transport a sick individual. While they were providing care a second call came out for a trauma call. Our members mustered a second crew and with help from East Side Fire District transported the trauma patient in our second ambulance.

We also had crews standing by during the fireworks show, making sure that all were safe while they celebrated America's 250th birthday. We're proud to be your local emergency health team, and continue to provide high quality emergency care to all who live, work, and play in our district. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ¦…

Congratulations to the EMT class of 2026! πŸŽ‰

Over the last 6 months these three individuals have put in over 150 hours worth of work. They have attended classes, been tested on skills, rigorously tested, and each passed their NREMT exam on the first attempt!

We are proud of their dedication, the late nights of studying, dedicating time to learning how to manage airways, recognizing stroke symptoms, memorizing all of the acronyms (well most of them), and learning how to provide high quality care with compassion.

Over the next couple months they will respond with mentor providers and they will continue to grow their skill set and confidence in patient care.

Congratulations Abby, Mike, and Maddy for all your hard work and dedication! Not only to your studies, but also to your community and the people who live, work, and play in the Harrison area!
