Road Work Notice – Starting the Week of September 7

Fahrner Asphalt Sealers will begin installing an asphalt chip seal pavement treatment on the following roads:

Lakeshore Drive
Horn Road

Kuepper Road

A chip seal combines a layer of asphalt binder with aggregate chips to help preserve and extend the life of the roadway.

Roadways will remain open during the work; however, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should use caution. Please be aware that fresh asphalt seal material may track on vehicle tires.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this important roadway maintenance work.

Did you know? Not every “bike-like” electric vehicle is legally treated as a bicycle in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin law recognizes three classes of e-bikes:

Class 1 and Class 2: Motor assistance stops at 20 mph.
Class 3: Pedal-assist only, with assistance up to 28 mph. Riders must be at least 16 years old to operate a Class 3 e-bike.
A vehicle that does not meet Wisconsin’s e-bike definition—such as one modified to exceed the allowed limits or built more like a motorized scooter—may be classified as a moped, motor bicycle, or motorcycle instead.

That classification matters. Mopeds generally require the operator to have a valid Class D driver license or moped permit, be at least 16, and the vehicle must be titled and registered.

Before riding or purchasing an electric bike, scooter, or other bike-like vehicle, check its manufacturer label, top assisted speed, motor configuration, and whether it has been modified.

Safe riding starts with knowing the rules—and making sure the vehicle is legal for the rider and the roadway.

Road Closure Notice – Firelane 12

Please be advised that the curve on Firelane 12 will have traffic restrictions for drainage improvement work from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM:

Friday, August 28: A semi-road closure will be in place to allow crews to clear and grub the ditch/drainageway. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

Monday, August 31: A full road closure will be in place for placement of riprap (large stones) in the deep ditch. Please use alternate routes and avoid the work area.

Detour during the full closure:
Residents on Firelane 12 along Lake Winnebago should use Firelane 13 to exit the area.
Residents on the west side of Firelane 12 should use Firelane 12 to exit.

These improvements will help stabilize the drainageway and protect the roadway. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as crews complete this necessary work.
