The Harrison High School baseball team is going to the state tournament for the first time in program history.

The Wildcats defeated Anderson 6-3 in a Division II regional final Thursday night at Day Air Ballpark in Dayton.

How You Can Make a Difference in Southwest Local Schools
In response to the May 5 election, many members of our community have reached out asking how they can help support Southwest Local Schools. We are grateful for that generosity and commitment to our students, staff, and schools.

To provide an opportunity for those who would like to give, Southwest has created an option for private donations to directly support our schools.

Donations can be made through the District website (link below) by scrolling down and selecting the “Donate” button on the main page, or by delivering cash or a check to the District Office at 10800 Campbell Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. You may also see the attached flyer and QR code.

Introducing the 2026 Harrison High School Prom Royalty! Congratulations to King Ethan Roush and Queen Lanie Gehner!

Harrison High School Art 1 classes made origami cranes, inspired by the "1,000 cranes project" in honor of Mr. Coffman. The cranes are a symbol of hope after a loss.

The "1,000 Crane Project" (Senbazuru) is a Japanese tradition used for healing and remembrance after death, based on the belief that folding 1,000 origami cranes grants a wish, often for peace, longevity, or recovery. It offers a cathartic, meditative way to honor lost loved ones, manage grief, and channel emotions into a collaborative memorial.

Once again, the Southwest Local School District has received a Clean Audit Award from the Ohio Auditor of State, with no findings, comments, or management letter.

Eligible entities that receive this award meet the following criteria of a “clean” audit report:

The entity must file financial reports with the Auditor of State’s Office by the statutory due date, without extension, via the Hinkle System on the GAAP accounting basis.

The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Uniform Guidance (Single Audit) findings, or questioned costs.
The entity’s management letter contains no comments related to:
- Ethics referrals
- Questioned costs less than the threshold per Uniform Guidance
- Lack of timely report submission
- Bank reconciliation issues
- Failure to obtain a timely Single Audit in accordance with Uniform Guidance
- Findings for recovery less than $500
- Public meetings or public records issues

The entity has no other financial or other concerns.
