The Town of Harrison, in partnership with the Hudson County Office of Social Services, Holy Cross Church, and Hudson County Executive Craig Guy, invites Harrison residents to our upcoming food distribution event.

Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Harrison Elks Lodge, 406 Harrison Avenue, Harrison, NJ

Please bring:

A valid ID and proof of residency
Your own bags or cart to carry food items

It's time for Bulk Garbage Pickup!

📅 Pickup Dates: August 5 & August 19 (1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month)

Remember: Place your bulk items at the curb the Tuesday before after 6:00 PM.

Accepted:
✔️ Furniture
✔️ Mattresses
✔️ Bicycles
✔️ Large appliances (doors removed)
✔️ Large metal items

Not Accepted:
❌ Construction debris
❌ Car parts
❌ Propane tanks
❌ Cement or plaster bags

Help keep Harrison clean by placing items out on time and following the pickup guidelines.

Residents of Zone 2 and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. (all streets south of Harrison Avenue) can take advantage of the upcoming bulk garbage pickup dates:

📅 Wednesday, August 12 & Wednesday, August 26

Please place your bulk items at the curb by Tuesday night after 6:00 PM before your scheduled pickup.

♻️ What qualifies?
Furniture, large appliances, large metal items, and other bulky household goods.

🚫 Please note: Construction debris, car parts, propane cans, bags of plaster, cement, and similar materials are not accepted.

Please be advised that weather permitting, conduit installation work will continue at the Jackson Street Bridge, resulting in temporary bridge closures on the dates below.

📅 Closure Schedule
July 13, 16 & 17 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
July 20, 21 & 22 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

🚗 Vehicular Traffic:
• Full bridge closure
• Please plan an alternate route

🚶 Pedestrian Traffic:
• Intermittent closures
• Pedestrians will be allowed to pass when conditions safely permit
