Throughout the school year our community risk reduction division teaches various topics to Harrisonburg City Public Schools 3rd and 6th graders. To celebrate all they have learned we host an end of the year firefighter day.

Today is International Museum Day! Did you know there are free museums in the Hardesty-Higgins House and the Public Safety Building in downtown Harrisonburg? A great indoor activity for the hot days this week and in the summer months ahead!

The Harrisonburg Fire Department Museum is in the Public Safety Building (101 N Main St) and is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm (except holidays).

The Hardesty-Higgins House is open Monday-Sunday 9am-5pm, except most holidays, and is home to the Valley Turnpike Museum.
