🎉 We have some exciting news to share from Way to Go!

We are incredibly proud that two members of our Way to Go team have been selected to participate in community leadership programs for 2026–2027!

💙 Magali Salgado, Client Services Supervisor, has been selected for Leadership Harrisonburg-Rockingham through the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.

💙 Ashley Gordon-Becker, Executive Director, has been selected as an inaugural member of the ROCCO Fellows Program through the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

These opportunities are about more than professional growth—they are opportunities to build stronger relationships, learn alongside other community leaders, and bring new ideas and perspectives back to the work we do every day at Way to Go.

We are honored to have Way to Go represented in both programs and excited for all that Magali and Ashley will learn, share, and bring back to our organization and the families we serve.

🚗✨ Introducing Way to Go’s new ongoing campaign: MOVING FORWARD ✨🚗

For more than 20 years, Way to Go has helped individuals and families throughout Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County overcome transportation barriers that stand in the way of employment, stability, and independence.

A vehicle repair. A gas voucher. Insurance assistance. A reliable ride to work. These things may seem small, but they can completely change the trajectory of someone’s life.

Our new Moving Forward Campaign will provide ongoing support for:
🔧 Emergency vehicle repairs
⛽ Gas assistance
🚘 Vehicle purchase support
📄 DMV fees & licensing
🛞 Insurance assistance
🚕 Rideshare transportation
👩‍💼 Staffing & daily operations that keep our programs running

As a small nonprofit with a very dedicated team, your support not only helps our clients — it helps sustain the work behind the scenes that allows us to continue serving our community quickly, compassionately, and effectively.

When you donate, you are helping local families keep jobs, care for their children, attend medical appointments, and continue moving forward.

Faris, a 20-year-old refugee from Egypt, was awarded his very first vehicle—and his very first loan—through our WorkCars program in partnership with Pendleton Community Bank Harrisonburg, Va.

This milestone represents so much more than just a car. It’s independence, opportunity, and a pathway to continued success. We are incredibly proud to be part of Faris’s journey as he builds his future right here in our community.

A huge thank you to City Motors Co for helping make this possible—your team was absolutely amazing every step of the way, and we are so grateful for your partnership!

This semester, they have gone above and beyond in their work with Way to Go, and we truly could not have done it without them—especially during the Great Community Give while I was out of the office. Their dedication, initiative, and heart for our mission made a real impact in our community.

Emma and Alin, thank you for the time, energy, and passion you poured into this work. You both have such bright futures ahead, and we have no doubt you will continue to do amazing things and make a meaningful difference in the world.
