We meet every third Tuesday of the month at O'Charley's Restaurant, 101 Burgess Rd., Harrisonburg VA 22801 (right next door to the Harrisonburg Home Depot). Join your fellow Rocktown Libertarians for great food and great conversation with like-minded people from around the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County area! This is strictly for fun, there won't be any speeches (or even pop quizzes). Just good fo

od, good brew, good discussion, and good people. Voters who are just interested in finding out more about libertarianism and libertarians are also welcome! Available at the table will be the following:

- Modest selection of Libertarian literature & bumper stickers (donations requested)
- Voter Registration forms
- Rockingham County & city of Harrisonburg voting & public meeting information

Spending is the problem.

For two decades federal spending averaged 20% of GDP. During COVID, it jumped to 30% of GDP. It’s currently 23% of GDP.

If we cut taxes without cutting spending, an even greater fraction of American productivity will be consumed by interest on the debt.

Hero of the Day: Julian Alcala, a Florissant MO "former" police officer.

Initially, police department did NOT do what they do with every other perpetrator -- which is to release their full details, where they live, their booking photo, and everything else anyone could possibly want to see.

Instead, the department didn't even release his name. He is no longer employed by that cop shop -- but they won't say whether he resigned or was fired, if he's become a gypsy cop in another department, or what. They didn't arrest him. They did not turn his case over to the district attorney.

The ONLY reason he's being pursued at all is because the FBI actually did its job for once and told his victims.

Now, one of those victims has found an attorney, and that attorney filed a lawsuit on her behalf against the cop, publicly naming him for the first time.

Time to abolish the Florissant police department, prosecute those who were aware of the crook's actions, and start over.

Your cash, on the other hand, is worth somewhat less than it was. The Fed says inflation is at about 3%, but that's simply a fabrication.

Inflation (the printing [or creation digitally] of more and more worthless dollars) is >15% yearly average for the past few years. That consists mostly of increases to goods and services you actually buy (groceries, housing, transportation, insurance, energy, etc).

If you have money in the bank, you're losing it day by day.

If you don't have any physical gold, it's probably time to stock up, because this ride is only going to get worse.

The people you've elected are Ivy League morons with their finger on the dollar printing button, and they're banging on it as hard and as fast as they can -- both Democrat and Republican.

If you have a Costco membership, their stores are now selling physical gold.

"Hospital Capacity" was back in the news recently.

Remember back in 2020-2021 when the elites and busybody bureaucrats, Democrats and Republicans, and the bubbleheaded bleach-blondes in the media who simply regurgitated what they were fed...
.. Were all buzzing and spitting about "overrunning hospital capacity"?

That was a problem created by *YOU*, at the ballot box -- via the idiots you elected to run your governments and the moronic, "EYI" (Educated Yet Idiot) bureaucrats they employ in increasing numbers to do the wet work.

Politicians, bureaucrats, and busybodies for *DECADES* assembled, piece-by-piece, a regulatory system to make hospitals approach always-maximum capacity -- by restricting the ability of new providers to enter a market, and not allowing existing providers to expand.

But...

Remember all those "temporary" hospitals that went up in old shopping centers and warehouses in less than a month at the beginning of Leviathan's idiotic panic ?

That's how easy it **COULD** be to establish a new hospital.

But of course that only happened because of the "emergency" waivers allowing them despite normal nightmarish bureaucratic practice.

Normally... in some markets, just getting all the approvals to build new, or expand -- and then fighting through all the lawsuits that come anyway -- often takes OVER A DECADE.

The American public -- and the parasitic government-media-BigTech Industrial Complex class -- all desperately need a basic course in economics and some deservedly skeptical study of "certificate of need" regulation, zoning laws, taxation policies, judicial meddling, and so on -- all of which contribute to hospital capacity shortages.

Free the market, and capacity problems fix themselves in short order.

Ya know, when I first saw these "generic" yard signs saying "Country over Party", I wondered whether this was D or R marketing. It's D. Only after these generic signs had popped up in hundreds of thousands of registered Democrats' yards, did the Democrats (Harris' campaign in particular) start doing the big "reveal" that these were the Democrats' campaign theme.

What they really should say is "Country Over Party As Long As You Vote Democrat".

No thanks.

I'm not going to vote for the evil of two lessers; both Harris and Trump are authoritarian statists.

I'm voting for the Libertarian, Chase Oliver -- because I want my country to be free; and so does he.

That's what "country over party" SHOULD mean:

Freedom and individual liberty.
