HRHA offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, during normal business hours.

HRHA’s Kelley Street Garden has received adaptive gardening tools through the Happy Hollow Urban Garden Award from Virginia Tech’s Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program!

These tools will make gardening more accessible for individuals with mobility challenges. A big thank-you to the Central Shenandoah Valley Master Gardeners Association for submitting the grant request and helping our garden grow! 🌿

🏘️ HRHA was honored to host Senator Mark Warner on July 17 for a ceremonial check presentation celebrating $2 million in Congressional Appropriations funding for the Lineweaver Annex Renovation!

Secured with Senator Tim Kaine's support, this funding will renovate 60 units of affordable, permanent supportive housing for elderly residents, individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, and persons with disabilities.

Join Renew Rocktown and Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project (SVBHP) to build your own energy efficiency kit, enjoy free food, and take part in fun activities for all ages.

It's a great opportunity to connect with neighbors and local organizations while discovering resources to make your home more comfortable and energy-efficient.

We are just under two weeks away from our Home Energy Savings Day event!

Energy bills have you down? Join us on Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 PM –3:00 PM at Immanuel Mennonite Church (400 Kelley St, Harrisonburg) for Home Energy Savings Day!

This free community event will feature a home energy audit demonstration and information about simple, affordable ways to reduce energy use and lower utility bills. Participants will have the opportunity to build their own energy efficiency kit to take home and learn about local energy-saving resources and programs.
There will be family-friendly activities, hot dogs, and snacks. All are welcome!
