4 AngusX cows and 1 Roan cow, all with bull calves by their sides. Cows are 3 to 6 years old. Calves are 2 to 3 months old and are eating from a creep feeder.

It seems so cliche to say, "They don't make'em like that anymore."
But in some cases, it's true, as it is here. Legends aren't forgotten and Larry's spirit is still felt around this barn. 💕
So many years auctioning. Traveling around the county with Pop Chambers looking at cattle and wooing customers, old and new. Larry was the face that met you at the loading dock on Thursday mornings for years. He sat on the weigh-master’s stool as well as in the auction box. He walked the alleys and sat in the seats as an order buyer. Even after he retired you could find him here on Friday mornings (after his McDonald’s pow wow with his coffee friends!) discussing all things cattle, dispensing advice and often laughing about something. Always with the signature toothpick in his mouth or in his hand pointing at you if he really meant it!
Larry did a million different things in and for this community and had many different titles. Our favorite by far was friend.

That’s a wrap and a new sale record for the 2026 Rockingham County 4-H & FFA Livestock Show & Sale at the Rockingham County Fair!
Congratulations to the exhibitors and a hearty ‘well done!!l’ to everyone involved with putting on a wonderful show. 👏🏻
You cannot imagine the number of hours paid staff and volunteers put in to bring a sale of this caliber to life.
It was our pleasure to put in a little time assisting in the sale office!
