Our SROs are clearly psyched to be back to school!

Officer Kolars has moved from HMS to HHS this year and will be responsible for HHS, CCC, and HES. Officer Hurt is our new SRO and will be responsible for HMS, MIS, and the ECC.

Please say hello when you see them around the schools!

REMINDER!

School starts this Monday and we will be paying special attention to the roads near the schools.

We have moved one of our speed sign from Independence Street to Elm Street, just east of the high school. If you see the red and blue lights flash and/or the sign is displaying your speed, YOU ARE SPEEDING!

If you are running late, be late. You don't want your "late pass" to be an expensive speeding ticket.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS:

We want to remind everyone to be vigilant when it comes to scams. Over the past week, we have seen an increase in people being scammed and other scam attempts.

Many of these involved the scammer stating they worked for the Cass County Sheriff's Office and that the victim had a warrant for their arrest. The scammer then instructed the victims on how to send money. Recovery of the money in these cases is almost never possible because of the way the money is sent.

Please read and share the attached HPD scam flyer with your friends and family. You are always welcome to call us for assistance if you think you may be getting scammed. We are here to help!

In July, our dedicated dispatchers answered 2,182 calls, with call volume significantly increasing due to the severe weather that impacted Harrisonville on July 4th. These calls were managed by the Harrisonville Police Department, Harrisonville Fire Department, Animal Control, Utilities, and Public Works.
We extend our gratitude to our dispatchers, first responders, and all city employees. These men and women work tirelessly around the clock to serve our community.
