PSA on the Conjuring House sale and the related court cases
There’s a lot of speculation and confident-sounding misinformation floating around right now. That’s exactly when news outlets should be most disciplined about sticking to verifiable facts.
In my view, all news sources need to do a better job separating confirmed information from narrative framing. This situation is complicated, and the public deserves reporting that’s fair and unbiased, not storytelling that nudges readers toward a conclusion before the facts are established by the court.
If you’re following this story: treat ALL social media like rumor even if the source presents like they have privleged information, and remember that ongoing legal matters rarely fit into a clean hero/villain script.
