Thank you to everyone that came out in the heat and showed support to these people doing this flag run. And a very big thank you and shout out to our mutual aid neighbors Cadiz FD for bringing the ladder truck down and putting up the flag on short notice. What a most likely once in a lifetime experience. Emotional, exciting and thrilling all at the same time!!!!

UPDATE - They made it through town around 6:30. Will post a video shortly!!!!

UPDATE - They are on 519 between new Athens and Harrisville.

UPDATE - according to the website they will be just outside of town on 519 around 6-6:10.

This will be coming through our town today. Come out and show one heck of support to them as they pass!!!!

A remarkable cross-country journey will be passing through our area along U.S. Route 250 as Relay for America carries a single American flag, runner to runner, 24/7, all the way to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary. ❤️🤍💙

Their mission is simple: to unite Americans one mile at a time.

As the relay makes its way through Belmont County and crosses the Ohio River near Wheeling today, we encourage residents and visitors to find a safe spot along the route to cheer on these dedicated runners and show your patriotic spirit. 🇺🇸

US 250 between Harrisville and Cadiz, on the section known as 3 Bend hill is restricted to one lane due to a sand box semi rolled on its side. Multiple agencies are on scene!!!!
