🚨 Attention, members! Deadline to apply for the Youth Beef Heifer Initiative is October 31.

Established in 2007, the Heifer Initiative Award has helped youth across Kentucky purchase a heifer to begin or grow their own herd. In 2011, KCA was honored to gain Farm Credit Mid America as a partner to ensure the continuation of this program and grow the interest of the cattle industry for the many students who apply. One winner is selected in each age division based on their applications and responses to questions asked pertaining to the beef industry. Each of the three winners receive up to $2,000 to purchase a heifer from a Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association member.

Kentucky 4-H is excited to partner with Kentucky Agriculture and Environment in the Classroom for this exciting opportunity at the Kentucky State Fair! Please share with your 4-H families and school partners!

🎉 Huge congratulations to FOUR Mercer County 4-H Teens - Jolie Cochran, Payton Issacs, Ben Rowe, and Lynley Thacker !!!!

These 4-H teens have been selected to serve on the 2026-2027 Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council! Alongside more than 60 teen leaders from across the state, they will help with state-level programming, participate in service projects, serve as ambassadors for Kentucky 4-H, and continue growing as leaders.
Each of these young 4-H leaders has spent the summer developing their leadership skills and volunteering with 4-H. We greatly appreciate their leadership and look forward to seeing them continue to grow.

We are incredibly proud of Jolie, Payton, Ben, and Lynley and this exciting accomplishment. Please join us in congratulating them! 🍀

if you are planning on showing at the Mercer County Fair YOU MUST Pre-Register yourself and your birds.
PLEASE register no later than Thursday, July 23 by NOON.
As of right now we do not have any entries and if not enters by Thursday we will NOT have the show.
