A day in my life? Answering a million phone calls, most are for birds or calls too far away so I give out the animal help now website a million times a day.
Well I get a ton of calls that as soon as they hear I can't help them they just hang up. I lose my patience and I get tired of it, who doesn't, you called me for help not the other way around.
This is my sixth year, my patience is only getting thinner each year.
Some guy, yes it was a grown man, had called he had an injured bird could I help or should he just shoot it, I told him we weren't licensed for birds but I could give him a website to find someone who could help him. He said "Okay thank you" I started to say the website and click. Yeah I got mad. I called him back, he forwarded me to voicemail, I didn't leave the nicest voicemail because you called me for help and then didn't let me give you the help. He then proceed to continuously call me over and over, I sent him to voicemail where my voicemail message has that website info, I thought he would get the hint, after the 5th time clearly he didn't so I answered, oh he just wanted to tell me that he didn't hang up on me because he said "okay thank you"... so I hung up. Like 5 minutes later my phone rang again with another number so I answered, It was another man asking who he was speaking with, well Critter Haven, he asked if it was the owner or just a worker, it's a one person operation guys, oh he heard the voicemail and I wasn't going to speak to his son like that, man I talked to was a grown man. This man was threatening to come to my house on Monday and teach me a lesson and he was gonna put it all on Facebook 🙄 I said go right ahead, I don't get paid, you aren't ruining anything for me genius and you will be met at the door with a gun if you show up at my house and I hung up.
I'm sick of it guys. I'm here to help animals, I'm not here to cater to as****es. I don't get paid, I don't work for anyone. I don't care who bad mouths me this isn't middle school. I hang up on people who are screaming at me. I have less patience for bu****it.

Some exciting news, some people may not find it exciting but we do and the new people we will be able to help will.
We are in the process of moving! Just about an hour and a half south. I was hoping to be fully moved by now and before I needed to post this but more calls are starting to come in so I need to change our address in all the important places!
I will still be available for any advice I can give for anyone who needs it, I'm not gonna just up and leave everyone in the lurch!

We also had an injured raccoon come in on Wednesday, it's a spring baby, there is something wrong with one of it's back ...

We also had an injured raccoon come in on Wednesday, it's a spring baby, there is something wrong with one of it's back legs, finders couldn't tell, I have just been letting it decompress so far, it is very stressed out.
I will be adding it to the vet trip with Ariel the squirrel 😔

I am super behind on posts! Things have been busy around here! 🙃
Moana came in Monday, she unfortunately has a broken leg, in two places 😬 I've got it braced with one of my famous toothpick braces! 😁 she is doing great!
Elsa came in Wednesday, she is doing great 😊
Iddy also came in Wednesday, she was found in their mailbox! They put her back in the woodsy area and she just came back so they knew that she needed help! She is doing great 😊
Ariel came in Thursday, found in their yard, she seems to have something going on with one of her back hips, it doesn't really feel dislocated but she doesn't use it, it might just be a birth defect. Come Monday if I have time to catch my breath I'm going to make a vet appointment to get it checked out.
Joey and Lala also came in Thursday, unfortunately their mom drowned in a pool and they came out of their nest looking for her 😔 so far they are eating well, it's still early though.

The set of 3 bunnies came in yesterday, unfortunately with a string test to confirm, mom was no longer returning to the nest so they had to come in. They are doing well so far 😊
The larger bunny came in this morning rescued from a cat last night 😬 luckily unharmed. It will have a short stay to make sure it is eating and doing okay before going back out 😊

Things have been so crazy and busy around here!
Friday we had opposite ends of the spectrum! Cleo and Billie went off to release!
Ella, Rose and Jake came in, maybe a month and a half old 🙃 by the time they are ready for release it will be November and it will be too late in the year for that so unless we have an extremely mild winter they will be with us till spring!

Fall baby squirrel season is not showing any sign of slowing down!
Neo came in last night, she fell from her tree, no mom showed up to get her 😔 and she is covered in tree sap! She is eating and doing well 😊
Briar also came in last night, found laying on the side of the street! Obviously not a safe place, they moved her in to the grass where she would be safe but unfortunately no mom showed for her either 😔 she had quite a bloody nose as well, she is eating and doing okay so far
Now the huge litter, some mom out there was being an over achiever! Average litters for squirrels is 2-4, this litter is 6 🙃
Belle, Alice, Merida, Tiana, Jasmine and Olaf came in this morning, unfortunately their mom had made their nest in an attic fan, which was unsafe and it had to be removed, unfortunately reuniting attempts didn't work. They are eating and doing great 😊
Last up, Squeaks, she came in this evening, found in their yard, they left her for mom but again unfortunately no mom showed up 😔 she is not in the best of shape today, she did perk up quite a bit after having some pedialyte but she is back down in her energy level so she needs all the positive energy 😞

Tate is around 6-8 weeks and obsessed with his sock, he refused to come out for a pic 😆
Sweet little Jessica was found in a gutter screaming her head off but no momma showed up! She is pretty underweight too 😔 I have her in with the little teeny ones on their timer trying to put some weight on her!

Catching up!
Friday was a bunny day! We got in 3 bunnies Friday morning within an hour!
The first, marked with pink, was caught by a cat, unfortunately it didn't make it through the night 😞
The second bunny, marked with yellow was just found, it did have a small cut on it's ear but was pretty healthy. It's doing well so far 😊
The last bunny, marked with blue was found by a another cat, there are a few bite marks but nothing serious, it is also doing well so far 😊
