“Fire with a view”

Crews spent part of the day working a brush fire in some challenging terrain with a pretty impressive backdrop. Conditions remain dry across the area, and fires can still spread quickly this time of year.

As a reminder, before burning outdoors, always check current restrictions and permit information through the Michigan DNR Burn Permit Page. https://www2.dnr.state.mi.us/burnpermits/

Thank you to Shelby-Benona Fire Department, Pentwater Fire Department, Oceana County Sheriff's Office, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the assistance and teamwork on scene today.

Also, a special thank you to Silver Lake Chicken Shack. We’re still not entirely sure how those wings found their way to us in the woods, but they were very much appreciated by the crew!

City of Hart Residents – We Need Your Help! 🚒❄️

With the heavy snowfall this winter, we kindly ask residents who have a fire hydrant near their home to help keep the area around it clear of snow. This small effort makes a big difference for our DPW and Fire Department and can save valuable time in the event of an emergency.

We truly appreciate the ongoing support of our wonderful residents. It’s community spirit like yours that makes the City of Hart such a warm, welcoming, and top-notch place to live!
