Volunteers needed this week! Tues - Fri, 10-1. Help us make house into homes! Especially Thursday. We’ve got two big deliveries on Thursday and some extra hands would make a huge difference.

Donation drop-off hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 12 to 2 at 595 New Park Ave., West Hartford.

As students across Connecticut head back to school, we’re reminded that housing stability is an essential part of a child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive.

Through the 100-Day Challenge, collaboration between schools, community organizations, and the homelessness response system helped connect 55 students from 34 families in Windsor, New Britain, and Hartford with prevention and stabilization resources.

That work continued in January 2026 with Phase Two, supported by the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, expanding to school districts in Bristol and Plymouth and bringing together partners including The Salvation Army, McKinney-Vento programs, CT Harm Reduction Alliance, and many others.

This school year, we’re proud to continue working alongside our partners to help more students and families find the stability they need to focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and looking toward a brighter future. 📚🏠

Hearing from a client who is excited to turn their house into a home is a reminder of why we do what we do. Every delivery and every helping hand is part of creating a place where someone can feel safe, comfortable, and at home. 🏡

✅ Advocate for policies and investments that create and preserve affordable homes.
✅ Donate, volunteer, and support organizations working to end homelessness.
✅Talk about homelessness as a housing and economic issue, not a character flaw.

Journey Home works across the Capital Region of CT to prevent homelessness, connect people to housing and help people remain stably housed.

Meet Dylan, our newest Production Coordinator! 🎉

Dylan joined Fresh Start Worx in a part-time role as Production Coordinator and has already become an important part of our team. Focused on rebuilding his career and strengthening his connection to the workforce, Dylan is embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute.

With the support of the Fresh Start Worx team, Dylan has been making tremendous progress learning the operations of our production shop, helping navigate our exciting move to Pitkin Street, and becoming a dependable resource for both staff and program participants.

Dylan was referred to Fresh Start Worx through our community partner, Home, whose mission is to ensure a home for all by bringing together service providers, businesses, government agencies, and local communities to end homelessness and create lasting systemic change throughout Connecticut's Capital Region.

At Fresh Start Worx, we believe that opportunity, support, and meaningful work can transform lives. Dylan's journey is a great example of what can happen when community organizations collaborate to help individuals move forward.
